DANGEROUS IDEAS

3RD - 7TH JUNE 2019 | ANNUAL POSTGRADUATE CONFERENCE | PARIS SCHOOL OF ARTS & CULTURE

Reid Hall, 4 Rue de Chevreuse, 75006, Paris

the VISION | the REALIZATION

In a world of polarities, it is hard to make educated choices, to let reason triumph over emotion, or to find a compromise between the two. In a world that is overall too hard to keep up, there is a need more so than ever before to continue the conversation on matters that may be a bit too uncomfortable, matters you may think you have had enough of. In this festival that is open and free for all, we will be tackling groundbreaking, revolutionary, controversial notions to aid us make sense of our world, situate our history in the present, rationalise, vindicate, argue for and against. From innovational filmmakers to contemporary intellectuals and historians, you are cordially invited to embark on a journey of dangerous ideas.

As Hannah Arendt, author of Le Crise de la Culture, famously said "There are no dangerous thoughts; thinking itself is dangerous".

WHY PARIS?

Despite being the City of Life and Love, Paris is also the birthplace of many dangerous ideas.
